Jai Shree Krishna
Patal is prasdi. If one goes on tour ,this is the only eatable avialable in the area which is samarpit and rest will be asamarpit. Therefore one may give first preference to patal.
This is my opinion.

Jayshrikrishna,
I agree with ojhabhai. vaishnavas choice should always be samarpit over asamarpit.
and we can do some seva & give nyochaver as it is devdravya.

Jai Shri Krishna,
While travelling or out of home on trips one must have to eat outside due to unavoidable circumstances, hence to eat in restaurant or to eat at temples may cost money but the wise thing is to eat the temple food as atleast that was once an offering to God with love by some devotees.
Some people even pay more to get prasad then restaurant food as I have seen.

Jai Jai Shri Gokulesh,
It doesn't remain Prasaad in purchased. Moreover, since it is Devadravya, it can never be consumed.
According to Sri Vallabhacharya SAMARPIT is more important then Prasadi.SAMARPIT is that which you offer to your Sri Thakurji at your home. Youshould carry SAMARPIT with you while on tour.

Jai Jai Shri Gokulesh,
If we refer to the Nij Varta and Gharu Varta prasang that Shri Aacharyaji had kept the katori for to bring the samagri for Shri Thakurji, and the samagri was been offered to Shri Thakurji. But the prasad was not given to any of the vaishanavas, because it was a devdravya.

Jai Jai Shri Gokulesh,
Prasad means the object which has been given back graciouslym to the devotee after it has been relished by Bhagvan is called "prasada".

I am fully agree with ojhabhai. One should eat patal when he is on trip as it is offered to God.
Hence it is samarpit.

Jai Jai Shri Gokulesh,
Moreover the Gharuvarta of Shri Aacharyaji no 3
"when there was nothing left in Shri Mahaprabuji’s store room one golden cup was pawned against regular offering materials. The cup belonged to Shri Thakorji’s temple treasure. The deity was offered usual breakfast/lunch by Shri Acharyaji. Thereafter due course of time gap, the prasad was taken out and Shri Thakorji was kept at rest. The prasad was given to cows and some was offered to Shri Yamunaji river water. Shri Mahaprabuji with family members and service offering vaishnavas went on fasting. On asking the secret of such act, by vaishnavas, Shri Mahaprabuji told that the prasad was from Shri Thakorji’s wealth. So he can be offered where as we do not have right to use his wealth for our purpose,(not even if we are starving). Who ever uses devdravya will be a totally degraded soul and can never be called my follower."
