In pushtimarg, Radhashtami utsav is considered to be a very important utsav. This utsav is the prakatya utsav of Pratham Swaminiji (i.e. Shree Radhika ji). Shree Radhikaji have a unique importance in this marg. According to Shrutis of vedas, when Shree KRishna or Brahm desired to be many from one just to play i.e. EKOHAM BAHUSYAM or "SA EKAKI NA RAMATE, SA DWITIYAM ICCHAT". For the purpose of Raman in his own selves, shree krihsna i.e. Brahm created three types of shrusti

1. Anandaatmika shrishti - Shree Radhikaji 2. Chidanandamitka shrishti - Jeeva 3. Tadatmika shrishti - JAD shrishti

THe prakata of shree swaminiji is for only and only to do lilas with krihsna and to give "anand" to shree thakorji. Shree Radhaji is the Anandatmika shristi of shree thakurji. The Utsav in SAARASWAT KALP in the RAVAL GAAM in VRAJ at house of Shree Vrishbhaanuji, shree radhaji appeared (prakatya). The Dharmi swaroop of shree radhaji (in GOLOK) itself tool form at VRAJ. Shree Radhaji appeared before the prakatya of shree thakurji. In Varsha kram, janmashtami comes first but in UTSAV KRAM or LILA KRAM, RADHASHTAMI comes first. Means shree radhaji took birth before shree thakurji at vraj. After a cycle of approx. a year, janmashtmi comes in LILA KRAM. Shree RADHAJI IS the SAKSAAT FORM OF ANAND and thus first the BEEJ BHAV (or ANAND BHAV) must be formed in the hearts of vrajbhaktas to do lilas with thakurji. Thus shree radhaji took birth before shree thakurji. In pushtimarg, this utsav aim is The BHAV LIKE SHREE RADHAJI has towards shree thakurji, must be developed and RATI (means PREM) towards thakruji must be developed. The Starting of development of ATMA RATI towards krishna starts/begins with this utsav only.This is the importance of this utsav.
