Jai Jai ShriGokulesh, This quote is from the Shastrarth Prakaran Nibandh. "Self-delightment should acquire form of all-exceeding unflinching love for the God following the awareness of His greatness or His lonely worthiness for being the object of love." Jai Shri Krishna, Gopalbhai you did good. Pushti means grace of God so only with His grace you can accomplish everything. Simple meaning of above phrase as follows When one has developed deep rooted and utmost love for God preceded by knowledge about the greatness of the Lord it is called Devotion. So Shri Mahaprabhuji here says One can obtain salvation only by devotion and in no other way. When the devotee feels such genuine devotion he remains totally engrossed in His worship. In Above phrase hence Shri Mahaprabhuji is telling us the two aspects od Devotion. I will tell you those to make it simple they are Mahatmyajnana and Sneha. Now I want vaisnavs to participate and explain about these two aspects. You can even put examples on same.

Jai Shree Krushna ! Let me put two questions, before the explanations : (1) What is the original source of this verse ? (2) Is this the only definition of Bhakti that Shree Mahaprabhuji has accepted ? Or, more precisely, is this the highest type of devotion ? Jai Shree Krushna ! Dharmendra

Jai Shri Krishna, Dharmendrabhai, As to the first question the answer was already put by Gopalbhai. Unless I dont understand your question then you can explain more. Second one according to me Shri Mahaprabhuji is talking about Devotion.

Jai Shree Krushna, Vasantbhai! (1) My question is about the original source from where Shree Mahaprabhuji accepted this definition. It turns out that this verse is orignially defined by Maharshi Narad in his Narad Bhakti Sutra. (2) There are two standard definitions of Bhakti - one the above by Naradji and the other by Shandilyaji in Shandilya Bhakti Sutra as "Supreme incessent love (Puranurakti)". The first definition assumes knowledge of greatness of Lord as a pre-requisite to develop love. Devotion supported by knowledge will be firm and unshaken under all situations of life. Shandilya however does not attach any conditions to devotion. It is like a spontaneous stream, bursting out from the mountain and flowing towards the sea, incessantly, unobstructed by any interruptions in its way. Shree Mahaprabhuji accepts both definitions in Tattvarth Dip Nibandh. But he says that the first type of bhakti is intended for devotees who are in the stage of maryada. They can comprehend the knoweldge of greatness of God and perfrom the Nine-fold bhakti. When Atmanivedan stage is reached, they can achieve the second type of devotion while forgetting the wordly things. Gopis are the examples of this type of devotion. Jai Shree Krushna ! Dharmendra

Jai Shri Krishna, Now lets continue with discussing the Mahatmyajnana and Sneha aspects as left out in half. Mahatmya means the glory grandeur or greatness. The comprehensive knowledge of bhagwan's glory or greatness is called Mahatmyajnana. Eg. Shri Krishna one day while playing ate mud/earth/or clay whatever you call it then her Mother happen to know it so she angrily requested Shri Krihsna to open His mouth Lo! what a surprise Her mother saw the whole universe in His mouth. Well that is one of the perfect example of Mahatmyajnana. Now lets see dear vaisnavs lets all participate and discuss more such lilas of Lord Krishna so we can all understand the Mahatmyajnana very well. I am sure Dattubhai may already know a few.
