Jai Shri Krishna,

Can anyone describe who was Draupadi in her previous life?

Also why and who gave her boom that she will have 5 husbands in her next life?

Jai Shree Krishna hope i am right: Draupadi was Mayasita. Lord Shiva gave her the boon. For after her penance, when she was asked to seek a boon, she asked for a husband, however, she repeated teh word husband five times, and hence was granted teh boon of five husbands.

Jai Shree Krishna Just to add a line on Shreekantbhai's view, She also had the desire that her husband to have all the qualities of what the five pandavs possesd(individual quality of each pandavs), and it is not possible to have all those qualities in one person, thus the five husband with all the qualities she asked for?

Jai Shri Krishna, Let me explain here little bit. Lord Krishna is telling all Pandvas that Draupadi in her previous life was a daughter of an intelligent Brahmin, but he wanted a son and got a daughter so He treated her (Draupadi) like his son. Her mother expired at a very young age and she (Draupadi) was very very pretty but had to behave like Tom boy to please her dad so when she grew up she could not find a suitable husband and all her friends got married and in the meantime her dad also passed away. Finally she started praying and it so happens that Dhruvasa Muni her dads friend during those times happens to pass by and consoles her and finds out about her desires and advices her to follow up on Purshottam Mas and observe the Ekadashi and tells her that her wishes will be fulfilled. She was totally upset at that and informs Durwasa Muni that there are bigger Gods like Shiva, Narayan,Indra,Ganesh, etc why should I keep Purshottam Mas Ekadashi? Though Durwasa Muni was angry he did not curse her as she was his friends daughter and left her alone telling her that her suffering will not be over as she disrespected Purshottam Mas and she will pay for it anyway. Then she (Draupadi) took to intense praying to Lord Shiva for over 1000 years so when Lord Shiva finally appeared to give her darshan and asked her what boon she needs to fulfill her desires she uttered following Give me Husband, Find me a Husband, Present me with Husband,I desire for Husband so I need nothing but please get me a qualified husband. Lord Shiva replies her that since she said Husband 5 times she will get 5 husbands and not in this life because she disrepected not only Durwasa Muni but also his words on Purshotam Mas and she did not follow to what he had said and disrespect to Purshottam Mas there is a punishment too. But because you prayed so hard in your next life you will not be born out of mothers womb but just appear in Yagna at kings palace who will adopt you as his child and you will marry 5 kings so dont worry (as she was first dissappointed to hear Lord Shiva telling her she will have 5 husbands). Lord Shiva also informed her that by not keeping Purshottam Mas Ekadashi she has disrepected the supreme God Lord Shri Krishna who is the giver of fruits for that Pushottam Mas and He is the sole owner of all living/non living beings and even I am under His control. Lord Krishna is still continuing telling Pandava brothers that once when Draupadi was being dragged by her hair by Dushashan She cried out loud to all present there to help her and all failed to do so then she called my name Hey Govind, hey Gopala please help me Hey Gopeen ke Rakhwala, Hey DheenBandhu, please help at that time I felt merciful and pity on Draupadi so I ran to help her as she was Lord Shiva's Devotee but now I would advice you all to please do observe Purshottam Mas Ekadashi and your sufferings will dissappear. Hence all the Pandava brothers including Draupadi observed Purshottam Mas while still in forest and all their sufferings slowly dissappeared and they even won the war as we all know.

Jai Shree Krishna Vasant bhai, this is the version i am aware of... When Sri Rama and his brother Laksmana were in exile in the forest with Rama's wife Sita, Agni came to Rama once and told him in private thus: "Oh Rama, you have incarnated on earth to kill Ravana (a great demon). The time for that is drawing nigh and ere long Ravana would carry away Sita. It is not proper that Sita, the incarnation of Laksmi, should be touched by Ravana. Therefore I shall keep Sita safe with me and I am giving you a phantom Sita to be with you in her stead." Sri Rama took the Mayasita (phantom Sita) from Agni without even Laksmana knowing it and handed over the original Sita to the custody of Agni. While Sri Rama, Laksmana and Mayasita were living together in their hermitage (ashram) a golden deer was seen one day in the precincts of their ashram. Sita was enamored of the beautiful deer and wanted it. So Rama, asking Laksmana to watch over Sita, went in search of the deer. Sri Rama tried his best to capture the deer alive. But all his efforts failed he had come far from the ashram. So he discharged an arrow and killed it. While falling dead, the deer raised a cry imitating the voice of Rama and called Laksmana for help. The deer was none other than Marica, the demon uncle of Ravana. On hearing the call for help Laksmana rushed to the spot from where the sound came and Sita was left alone for some time. Ravana then came to the ashram and spirited Mayasita away to Lanka. Rama and Laksmana went to Lanka with an army of monkeys and after killing Ravana rescued Sita. Rama, in deference to public opinion, put Sita into the fire to test her purity. At that time god Agni taking back Mayasita gave the real Sita to Rama, unscathed by the fire. When Mayasita was thus abandoned she bowed down before Sri Rama and Agni and asked them thus "What am I to do now ? Where should I go ?" They advised her to do penance there and blessed her by saying that at the successful end of her penance she would become known as Svargalaksmi. Siva was pleased by her penance and appearing before her asked her what boon she wanted. Mayasita who had become Svargalaksmi by then requested Siva to give her a husband. She repeated the request 'Patim dehi' (Give me a husband) five times and Siva said that she would have five husbands in her next life as Krsna the daughter of the King of Pancala.
