Jai Shree Krishna to all,
I have a small query that when we do Darshan then aftwards we do Dandwat Pranam...
After Bramhasambandh we told us that we have to do dandwat in one type of position.. like to bend only one knee and touch to the ground...... ?
Is there anything reason to do like this.. ?
Thanks and Jai Shree Krishna

Jai Shree Krishna
Ladies always have to offer dandvat in this manner only.
Gents when in seva, offer dandvat in this manner, that is right knee touching the ground, left knee up, and then bend down so that the head touches the ground. The reason is that Seva is offered with Gopi bhaav, and hence dandvat too should be done with similar bhaav.

Jai Shri Krishna,
In shastra there is sastang dandvat pranaam and panchang dandvat pranaam. spelling of panchang might be wrong.
so when we do panchang, one knee is kept up, for only 5 body parts to bow down.
its something on these lines, I am myself not very clear on this though.

Yes, Manish bhai, the shastras advocate Men to offer Sashtang Dandvat and Women to offer Panchang Dandvat.
Sashtang Dandvat pranam actually is Sashta Ang Dandvat, ie. With eight organs viz. haath (hands), pag (legs), Ghootan (knees), chati (chest), mastak (head), mann (mind), dhrushti (sight), and vani (speech)
Panchang Dandvat similarly means Pancha ang Dandvat, ie. With Five organs viz. haath (hands), mastak (head), mann (mind), dhrushti (sight), and vani (speech) .
