The story begins...when Raakshash king HIRANYAKASHYAP was not so pleased by his son,PRAHALAD(coz he was a gr8 VISHNU-BHAKT)so he insisted his Sister HOLIKA to take PRAHALAD with him in the fire!
HOLIKA was the sister of the Demon King HIRANYAKASHYAP,who got fire proof by the help of the BOON granted by AGNIDEVA(Fire).
But as soon as HOLIKA & PRAHALAD entered the Fire,Holika got all Burned while Bhakt PRAHALAAD was comfortably reciting Shri Vishnu's name with a smile on his face!!!..the BOON was granted for the welfare of the world while HOLIKA used it for her EVIL-IDEAS,so she got what she deserved.!!!
So this is why we celebrate this day as the Victory of SHRI VISHNU,His Bhakt-PRAHALAAD & the Victory of GOODNESS over BADNESS...hope I'v given a clean "PURANIC-EXAMPLE" which could satisfy,queries on What does the festival HOLI stands for???
And now for the favourite colour of Shri THAKURji...so I can tell you the Bhaavnas behind these colours(on whose behalf do we offer these colours to THAKURji)...so
CHANDAN=Shri Swaminiji.
Chouwa=Shri Yamunaji.
GULAL=The HAASYA(smile)of Swaminiji.
ABEER= Shri Chandravaliji.

Vasant Panchami and the forty days of Holi (Magh Shukla 5, Chaitra Krishna 1)
The Holi festival celeberates the arrival of spring. It begins with VASANT PANCHAMI, (usually in Feb) marking the birthday of KAMADEVA.
During Holi red and white powders (Gulal and Abir)and sandalpaste are sprinkled over Shri Krishna.
Lord palys with unresticted ways with His bhaktas and is considered one of the most favourable festival of Shri Krishna who is dressed in white so that the colors may remain on HIS dress.
Krishna loves this festival so much that after it is over great efforts are taken to make Him forget it.

Je Je Ko samast Pushtikul Parivaar ki aur se Sashtang dandvat evam pranam.
Aaj aapke vachnamrut se iss e-bhoomi mein bhi Holi ke rangon ki bahar aa gayi hai. Aap se vinanti hai ki aisi krupa aap sadaiv karte rahen.

Shreekantbhai ur right when Jeje Gives his vachnamrut...to khali rango maj nahin pan jivan ma bahar aavi jai che....
