Jai Shree Krushna !Vidyanagar/Vijayanagar was the great Hindu kingdom in the mediaval time spanning most of southern India and more. The city population was 3 Million and who was the king when Shree Mahaprabhuji participated the famous debate ? Who were the main opponents in vaad before Shree Vallabh reached the place ? Jai Shree Krushna !

It was King Krishnadev, who was the first to give honour to ShriMahaprabhuji by doing Kanakabhishek. and This was the first prasang when shrimahaprabhuji did khandan of mayavaad and established the Suddhadwait Brahmavaad.
The main opponents were between the Vaishnava Charyas and the Mayavaadi's like the ShriSankracharyaji, Charvaak, Jain, Budhs, Smarts, etc In Vaishnavacharya the main were Ramanujacharyaji, Madhvacharyaji.
After establishing Brahmavaad, Shri Mahaprabhuji was given the Honour or Aacharya of the whole Vaisnavism.

Well, as the king's name is not so important, i won't prompt again for that. Vijaynagar was officially ruled by King Narasimha, but Krishnadevray was the virtual ruler.
Yes, Gopalbhai, the main opponents were Madhvacharya Vyastirth and Shankaracharya Vidhyatirth. Vyastirth was supported by disciples of Ramanujacharya, Nimbark, Vishnuswami and Madhvacharya, while Vidhyatirth was supported by Smarts, Shaktas, Ganpatyas, Shaiv and others. The mediators were Gautam, Kanad etc.
Now, what was the first question asked to Shree Vallabh ?

Vinodbhai, this was not the question asked at the Vijaynagar vaad. May be you know, this was one of the four questions asked in Shastrarth at Jagannath Puri. But this is very close to the first question asked at Vijaynagar. Will wait for someone to contribute, or will put later.

Afet being introduced to the Sabha and being given a brief introduction on the tpoic by Vyasa-tirtha, When Shree VallabhaCharya observed the whole situation and started to introduce his point.... Vidya teertha interrupted Shree Vallbh seeking clarification of the scriptural basis or the authority of his arguments.

But if I am not wrong this verse was originally created by Shree Sankharacharya. And Shee Mahaprabhuji quoted that to remind the assembled people of same.

I think so that this prasang is from the Jagannathji temple, at Puri which arised in the sabha of Raja Bhoj .
