Dear Ojahbhai,
The story of the Astakshar Mantra is same as janma of the Shri Panchakshar Mantra which is nicely explaind by Vaibhav bhai you read that only Addon is "When Shri Mahaprabhujiji doing Darshna of This Yugal Swaroop and he says Shree Krishna Sharnam Mamah"
Correct me if i am wrong.
