Jai Jai ShriGokulesh, As we all know that ShriGokulnathji The Chaturthkumar of ShriGusaiji fought for the Malatilak Raksha with Badshah Jahangir, and the result was due to Chidrup, a Paakhandi sanyasi who impressed the badshah and convinced him only to do the tripund tilaks for the hindus, and not the vaishnavi tilaks like U-shaped or ||(dandakaar) tilak as he used to say it is non shastriya. For this ShriGokulnathji Maharahshri took a lot of Shram to go to Kashmir and convinced Jahangir that THis tilak is tha auspicious marks for Vaishnavas. I feel proud to be the Sevaka of ShriGokulnathji.

Dear Gopal, You are absouletly Right.. At the age 0f 70 years Shri Gokulnathinaji fought for the Rakshan of Mala Tilak. Shri Gokulnathji travelled from Gokul to Kashmir and which was tough and took almost 90 days to reach. Shri Gokulnathji have not fought on that time than we vaishnavs might not be wearing ornaments.. i.e Tulsi Mala and Tilak. Correct me if i am wrong. Jai Shree Krishna

Jai Shree Krishna Yes absolutely correct. In fact it was Chidrup who after impressing the Badshah, got a promise from him to not to allow Mala Tilak as per our Sampaday. Even upon being collectively fought with , he taking advantage of the Badshahs farman deployed his army to go and wipe out tilaks from Vaishnavs forehead, which culminated into almost a mass protest movement. In order to put an end to this, Shree Gokulnathji took the strenious journey Kashmir and convinced the Badshah against the order, but at the cost of leaving Gokul. Later the Badshah came to know of chidrups Evilness and invited Shree Gokulnathji back to Gokul. However, he requested shree Gokulnathji to arrive at some kind of a compramise in order to save his face form the Public, to which it is said that Shree Gokulnathji wiped of the bottom part (the 'u' bit of the tilak) and assured the Badshah that hence forth his Lineage would only ornate themselves with the 2 lined tilak known as dandakar tilak, laso saying that the rest of the Vallabhkul lineage and their sevaks will not be party to this decision.

Jai Jai ShriGokulesh, Yes Jatinbhai, if ShriGokuleshji didn't fought then today, the existence of pushtimarg also might be a questionmark. Aapshri fought and saved the Mala Tilak. Many others just discontinued wearing Malatilak, due to Chidrup, but ShriGokuleshji didn't gave up and won the problem.

Jai Shree Krishna This incident one can say is only the tip of the iceberg. Shree Gokulnathji has been the guiding light for the Vallabhkul and Vaishnavs in the post Gusianji era. He also had great and staunch followers of him.... One such Vaishnav during his stay at gokul, used to offer alomost on a daily basis new padukaji to Shree Gokulnathji...eventually ending up with a trunk full of them...of which he performd seva in his time and later presented it to Shree Gokulnathji Mandir at Gokul. Such was there bhav... At many a place in many a vathas....it is mentioned.... what to say of the Greatness of Shree Gokulnathji. Indeed it is our fortune to have such illustrious divinity in Pushtimarg.

Jai Shree Krishna I would like to add another incident ... When Shree Gokulnathji went to Kashmir, once after his bath, he asked his immidiate aid to give the gadal made of Rui as it was extremely cold, to which the aid said the gadal is not in apras and there are not additional once available. To this Shree Gokulnathji gave agnya to the aid to take the Gadal and allow it to be touched by any Vaishnav avialable close by, so that it can be then used in apras. A tureVaishnav is said to be so divine that his mere touch can purify things. for in the word Vaishnav the First letter (as in Hindi,Sanskrit, Gurathis etc.) "Va" is symbolic of Shree Vallabh, "shna" is symbolic Shree Kru'shna' and the last "Va" is symbolic of Shree Vitthal.

Jai Jai ShriGokulesh, Even today also we find many Chidrups roaming round us, making us apart from doing Mala-Tilak,and abusing us. But One grace always stays with us is our ShriGurudev's Grace, which has kept us atleast wearing Mala(kanthi) to our necks.

Jai Shree Krishna Well said Gopal bhai, this is very much true, while some try to take us our from Mala and think, there are new chidrups today trying to become our Gurudevs and trying to give Brahmasambad inspite of not being from Vallabhkul. Viashnavs today dont wear Tilak at all, partly it is also to do with our changing social environment... i remember in our own house, eating outside, not allowing non-vaishnavs into the house were all taboo once upon a time...but with changing times many of these restrictions have been donewith in the name of social changes, looking backwards, many of these elements though physical ristrictions, did help in preserving identity....which seems to be deminishing now... what with many vaishnav housholds not even being aware of the sanctity of brahmasamband diksha... and anyshray is rampant today.
