jai shree krishna
well hetal, as i mentioned earlier when a women is in her periods the reason she doesnt do seva is because during that time a women experiences, a lot of heat in her body that even if u keep a flower it will murjai in few mins or couple of hours, and thats the reason u dont do thakorji's seva beause thakorji is very delicate, as u must be knowing that, and even not only because of shastra but even it can be looked from a scientific way that during periods a lady diposes all the anti micro orgasims, that can be even harmful to some people. i hope u know wht i am trying to say, thats the reason why even those 4 days there is no intimate relationship between a husband and a wife.
and beyond all we should not forget that the organism can be harmful to anyone, thats why we dont have to perform thakorji's seva.
well i am not exactly trying to put word which i wann say but i hope u get a bit of the concept
please forgive me if i have offended anyone by saying few things above

Jai Jai ShriGokulesh,
Sutak or Asauch means impurity caused by birth or death in once family or in clan.Sanatan Hindu Dharma regards Shastra as supreme authority. Very often Shastra commands like the king where it gives no reason or clarification rests behind its commandments. However several reasons are bring out by Shastric thinkers.
Shastra of Sanatan arm believes that certain types of separation and association of relations brings impurity. Therefore Shastra orders to undergo purification process like bath, Prokshana (to sprinkle water), Achaman(to sip water) etc in the cases of bodily discharges such as spiting, sneezing, urination, defection, menses and so on. Similarly in the case of death (separation) of any mber or birth (association of new relation) in the clan, Scriptures orders to observe Asauch or Sutak of 10 nights for Brahman, 12 for Kshatriya, 16 for Vaishya and 30 for Sudra. This is to be followed up to seven generation. As generation gape widens days of Sutak lessens.
Shastra believes that in the state of excessive grief and happiness, person often loses is ontrol over his emotions, sense of duty, routine works etc. Therefore, during the days of Sutak scripture imposes compulsory suspension of all the duties of Varna and Ashrama. This way scripture gives concerned people sufficient time to overcome from grief and return back o normal life and facilitates relatives also to help concerned members of the family by their arm company.
Earlier in Bharat, Varna-Ashram was the religio-social setup. Nowadays it has become a matter of history. Earlier society was concentrated; relations were more intimate and long lasting; feelings were strong. Today density of population has been increased to the greatest extent but sense of togetherness is lessening; relations are becoming uperficial and trivial and feelings are becoming weak. For this all such rules and regulations seem awkward today. The reason for this is: change of social setup.

jay jay shree gokulesh
in sutak before shree gusaiji's time there was no permition for darshan, but one day when gopaldas son of shree kumbhandas( one of the astsakhas) was dead while saving the cow of shree thakorji.
When somebody told shree kumbhandasji that his son was dead the felt in MURCHA, everybody felt that he is fainted because of love towards the son, but correct reason was something else. He was fainted because of the fear that now due to sutak he would not have the darshn of shree thakorji. When shee gusaiji told him that he could do the darshn he immediately got up.
form that day onwards in pustimarg we have got the permition of having darshan in sutak.
please correct me if I am wrong.

Shri Govardhan nath ki Jai
Shri Vallabhadhish Ki Jai
Hetalji U r curious about the things after a good replies fro Jay bhai, Gopal bhai & Vrajesh bhai.
But some thing in Shstras are taken to be granted there can;t be a proof for everything .
Certain things we've to do by Shastra only eventhough we've lot many feelings on that.
And if you are in sutak or in periodic time u can understand or feel the Viproyog from Thakorji. I m not good at explaining but i can only say that we can't challange certain things which are in shastra
I hope i m right Jay bhai , Gopal bhai & Vrajesh bhai
Correct me if i am wrong somewhere

I have been following this discussion and i think that reply posted by Gopalbhai on -
November 30 2004 : 16:30:51, seems most appropriate.
There are rules and regulations to allow a certain discipline for maintainence of society and culture. Rules to be followed to allow smooth functioning.
As pointed out by gopalbhai these rules were made during a different era and in today's times how relevant they are.... i dont know?
We continue to follow rules. We also challenge them because we have an analytical mind. And then seek logical explanations too. We forget that the basis of it all is complete faith. And faith is independent of logistics.
However if one has questions regarding the rules i feel that one should directly hold consultation with ones guru who is the authority on these for proper guidance.
Whether the rules should be amended to suit the present times.... I can't answer this question because i don't know.
I hope i am not offending anyone. I am sorry if my opinion hurts anyone's feelings, that is not the intention. But it is only my personal view point.

Jai Shri Krishna to all bhagvadiya Vaishnav,
Our Pushti marg is based on science.
Apras - After taking bath wearing washed clean cloths and hence minimising chance of infection thro' bacteria, virus etc.
Alokik bhav of Apras may be cleaning our mind, heart, body, soul from all kind of dirt and there is nothing else in mind except Thakorji and Sewa Bhav.
No onion, garlic - logically bad smell, scientifically may cause acidity if eaten in excess.
Alokik reason - This are products increasing Tamasi prakruti where as in Pushtimarg v should have Satvik prakruti.
No outside food - Contaiminated food may carry virus, bacteria etc and scientifically may be harmfull in long period.
Alokik - Aprigrah
Fast of 1day b4 doing seva if had outside food or incase fast like Janmashtmi, Ekadashi -
Scientifically to clean the body system
Dodhghar and Sakhdi, Makhan n Mishri - Complete nutrition thro' milk, milk products and other food ingradients and no need of Vitamin tablets if v do the seva as per guidlines of Mahaprabhuji from Mangala to Sayan at home.
Similarly, Sutak and Vardhi and 4 days monthly cycle - Scientifically emotional imbalance is being seen. It is scientifically proven that there is change in the chemical constituent in the nerve cells of brain during Sutak of near, dear one. We can say that due to this person is mentally not in the state to do sewa. Bhagvadiya vaishnavs have already elobrated on the cycle and even shashtra about the same and I 100% agree with them.
This r my views n if I am wrong do correct me.
Sarve Vaishnavne Jai Shree Krishna.
