Jai Shree Krishna
This is to the best of my knowledge, i am not saying this with ref. from any book:
As Vaishnavs, having brahmasambandh we should wear 2 Kanthis. 1 towards bhav of Shree Thakurji and 1 towards the bhav of Swaminiji.

PLEASE TO CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG.
The previous answer is correct. kanti is worn when brahmsambhandh is given to vaishnav and should always have 2 kanti. kanti is shri mahaprabhuji's swaroop so has ot be worn by vaishnavs.
and it should be always changes if there is a death in the family or if in a house there is no chokai because kanti abrayjai, because it is made of cotton thread.
but if you wear a golden kanti or a kanti made out of resmi thread then that does nto get abraijai.
and a vaishnavs should always wear 2 kanti and should take care of it very well because its shree mahaprabhujis swaroop.
PLEASE DO CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG

Dear Hetal,
When child is born in vaishnav family after 40 days when mother takes him to gurudev for Nam Mantra Dixa on that time Goswami Balaks says three times Shree Krishna Sharanam Mamaha on right Ear of child after he gaves one kanthi to child and after at age of around Five year when the child becomes understandandable on that time he take Brahmasambandh Dixa from Goswami Balaks on that time Gurudev gaves two kanthi to wear one is with bhav of Shree Swaminiji and one with Bhav of Shri Thakorji ..
We need require to change the kanthi after the death in family , new baby born , females monthly cycle, when we are going on funeral of some relative etc...
If any have further doubts please let me know
