Ahamta means Egoistic, Self centered ...
Mamata refers Affection, personal desires, Likes and dislikes.
Through Deenta (Humbleness), both can be overcome. For Being Humble in itself removes Ego and by being humble and remaining surrendered to God, personal desires and worldy attachements can be overcome.
Also Ahamta and Mamata, where the two hindrances in one of the leelas. Which one ?

Thanks for the explaination, but sorry I don't know the answer its which leela, just guessing that gopi felt ahamta & Krishna disappeared at the time of "Raas-Leela" .

Yes. True Devanshu bhai. But there is one leela in which Shree Thakurji clearly highlights the need to sacrifice Ahamta and Mamata, in order to realise him. May be one of the Vaishnavs will reply.

There is a very nice vachnamrut on cassete by Goswami Shri Shyam Manorharji expalining Ahamta and Mamta.
Ahamta is made up of following qualities ego, pride, show off, be proud etc
Example. If a person owns 3 factories, 2 buildings, 10 cars and he tries to show off that this all is mine I am wealthy people must listen to me well this is His Ahamta.
Mamta means this is mine, it belongs to me
Like it happens in school all the time with small children like if someone takes others pencil or rubber and immediately the owner screams dont touch THIS IS MINE , THIS BELONGS TO ME
Well this is Mamta.

Regrding the Leela you are talking about I think Gopi Geet will be the answer for you.

This comprises of 19 verses from chapter 31st of Tenth Canto of Shrimad Bhagawat and ranks the best.
The Gopis of Vrindavan were deeply infatuated with Shri Krishna. He took it upon Himself to further improve their character by ridding them of self elavation and pride ( Aahmta and Mamta ) and instilling in them a deep sense of Bhakti-Devotion.
He also felt that it could only come about when they would feel the pang of seperation from Him and have Him the lone focus of concentration.
It was His desire to introduce them to this experience of ecstatic bhakti through which they would realize that He and they were not seperate.
Then Krishna disappeared. The Gopis utterly distressed at their seperation, sang 19 verses pathetical.
Seeking this deep love Lord Krishna appeared again at the end and made them extremely happy with spiritual bliss.
This is the most emotional and devotion song sung by the Gopis.
If the Bhakta loves Lord Krishna as the Gopis did he will surely achieve Him.

Shree Hariraimahaprabhuji in the granth Swaroop tar tamya Nirnaya says....
One who has not understood Seva and Swaroops of Shree Thakorji, his seva only remains as Kriya roop. And through such a seva, Ahamta and Mamta of this world is not lost. Hence Vaishnavs need to be reborn again, since the fal out of Seva is not attained as seva in this case is a mere Kriya. Having reborn, the Vaishnav should do seva as instructed by Shree Mahaprabhuji, and realise the swaroop of Shree Thakorji. Then and only then will he be relieved form the bondage of the worldly Ahamta and mamata. However, if he once again gets deviated towards worldy desires, then he does not attain Mukthi.
