When Putna came to Gokul to feed Lord Krishna with the intention to kill Him, Kanha closed his eyes . There are many reasons as said in Tika by various saints. Can you list out the reasons.

Jsk, I was expecting replies .... O.K What I know is as:
1) Putna was a lady and Lord Krishna thought that now I'll have to kill her but as she is a lady there is nothing of pride in that so He closed His eyes.
2) Putna was a demon so Lord Krishna thought if I had a eye contact with Putna and if she gets "gyan" and "vairagya" happens to her then she may change her mind and My leela shall not complete so Lord closed His eyes.
3) Putna came to feed Lord Krishna but she had intention of killing so Lord was thinking where to send her in Golok or Vaitunth so while thinking He closed His eyes.
4) One more reason is no one can get so close to God before doing some "punya" so Lord Krishna was thinking what are the "punya" of Putna that brought her to me, so while thinking this He closed His eyes.
5) Lord thougt that in Gokul everyone shall give Him makhan-mishri and all milk products but here He was given poison so He closed His eyes showing his anger.
6) Lord Shiv can take the poison easily so Lord Krishna was remembring Shivji before taking the poison.
Refrence: Premsagar.
Jsk, Monica.

Monica.

Jai Shri Krishna,
Well, Monicaji you forgot the most important one.
When Putna came to feed, Shri Krishna wanted to visualise who is this asuri jeev ?
and also what, she was in her previous birth?
So Shri Krishna had to close His eyes and think and found out that She was Bali Raja's daughter and it was the boom she had received in her previous life.

jsk,
I got two more reasons :
7) In Lord Krishna eyes Sun and Moon have the place and great saints go to Brahmalok after great "tap" through Suryamandal and Chandramandal thus Lord's eyes are gate-way to Brahmalok. And Putna was about to get the entry to Brahmalok whereas she had a intention to kill Lord so Sun and Moon were thinking that she had no good intentions and no good karma done before so she should not come to Brahmalok hence Sun-Moon closed their way i.e eyes of Lord.
8) Lord Krishna was thinking that i'm giving "sadgati" to Putna who has intention to kill me. And I had nothing better to give to my bhakt then " sadgati (mukti) " So what I shall give to this Gokulwasi's who are giving me makhan-mishri, who love and care for Me so much. So thinking this Lord Krishna closed his eyes. Contributed by : a Vaishnav.

Jai Shree Krishna
Let me add one more....
Shree thakorji closed his eyes thinking about the many other children whose praan Putna had taken in the pretext of feeding them with milk. Prabhu closes his eyes thinking how to do udhaar of those jeevs .

Jai Shree Krishna
Putna in her previous birth was the daughter of Baliraja, what led to her become a devil like Putana ? What was her manorath that Pabhu fulfilled ?

Jai jai shri gokulesh
Ratnamala was the name of king bali's daughter. And in her next birth her name was Putana.
Bali had captured the heaven and became the Lord of all the three worlds. During the 100th Ashvamedha Yagna of king bali. Lord Vishnu took the Vaman avatar and demanded the earth measured by three steps. Lord Vamana then transformed his body into a giant form. His first step covered the entire earth, the second step covered the heaven and there was no place to keep the third step. Bali helplessly offered his head for Lord Vishnu to keep his third step, so that he could measure it by his third step. Bali was satisfied that his reputation for benevolence remained intact, though he had lost his whole kingdom that consisted of all the 3 worlds.
When Ratnamala saw Lord Vaman she felt like feeding him milk. But seeing him keeping his feet on the head of king Bali she felt like giving a poison to lord vaman.
This was her two manorath which lord fulfilled in her next birth.

thinking process is for mortals not for knower of all lord do not have to think
buddhi preraka keishnah
every child feels comfort and warmth when breast feed
god was enjoying the mother hood carried forward from previous birth as a sister of bali
maharaja and lord opened his eyes when her soul was sucked out
to provide her mukti
putna is an outsider ( not from vraj parkiar)
she is only entitled to maryada margiya mukti and not allowed in golok
nitya leela vada of shir vitthla prabhu is suggested reading
