In todays' fast paced and nuclear family style lifestyle, it becomes extremely difficult to completely follow the aparas in case of home - seva. How should one go about with the home seva in the 3-4 days of prohibition if it is not possible to maintain isolation of the female member from the kitchen and the puja ghar ( as puja ghar is a part of the living room)

Jai Shree Krishna, Good ? I would tell that during that 4 days a man should offer his Thakorji all the bhogs which his family offers regularlly. For that a man should learn every thing in kitchen & do seva. 'cause god (Thakorji) never wait for anybody. If in your family thjere is only 1 female (if she is ill or has gone to her parents place) you have to do every thing in kitchen & for his/her Thakorji i think he/she will do it anyhow. In short there we should not only offer a glass of milk, fruits & dryfruits to our thakorji but the full bhog ie. (Mangal Bhog, Shringar Bhog, Gwal Bhog, Raj Bhog & Shayan Bhog). Forgive me if i had missed any. Chirag Chirag

JAi Shree Krishna, It's simple, during that 4 days female member should not entre the seva room. She should take care that she don't touch anything unless it is given to her. A male member should see that everything is kept properly(all the utensils in which he prepares the samagri)hsould be kept seprately. Chirag

It is really difficult to maintanin Apras at home. However one can keep separate clothes/abotia for seva keep sanctity and related items of seva must be kept in near devsthan which should not be accsable to other members and whle performing seva one may suddha everying with bhav. This is purely one of my opinion and could be corrected. JAi Shree Krishna A.K.OJHA

Jai Jai ShriGokulesh, doing seva at home is not only responsibility of female, it is the full part seva for all the members of that residence. one thing i would like to quote that in pustimarga there is no "puja ghar", we say it to be the mandirji, or the seva no kax. A female aswell as the male of that house is to be involved in the seva. The 4-5days a month, is given for the female to rest and during this days the male member of the house can manage for seva. And about apras, it is not a difficult work. Because if we are not able to live without food for this 4-5days, then how can in the matter of Shri Thakurji? We don't even live without taking bath for a single day, then how can we argue for maintaining Apras at our home? Edited by - gopal on October 29 2004 17:51:32

Jai shree krsna, In situtations like apras first of all all the vasan(vessels) of thakurji shud be kept seperate otherwise also, seperate water matki which shud be kept in the seva place, dry fruit box or a seperate small fridge only for thakurji samagri plus the male member shud buy the fruits flowers n keep it for thakurji n once the apras is over the whole house to be sprinkled with gangajal or gaumutra n all is pure.Ask for forgiveness from thakurji. Small things if we pay little attention its not difficult at all. Yogini Yogini

Jai Shri Krishna Apras at home helps at a lot during begining as one follows , he become more methodological and systematic and able to do his seva as well as social things in a better way. Threfore, whatever little or more possible on the lines suggested above must be attemped which will give wonderful results. Jai Shree Krishna A.K.OJHA
