What is the purpose of having shree Ganeshji's idol or doing its pujan for any auspcious occasions like wedding (for example putting shree Ganeshji's picture or name on the invitation)

On the other hand does it apply to pustimarg vaishnavs? cause with us every auspicious occasions start with shree thakorji and shree vallabh, Can we just put their pictures and take aagna from vallabh kul to put picture of thakorji or shree vallabh on the invitation?

Cause if we do that then doesnt that mean its anyashray? please explain

Jay Bhatt ji, During a Wedding, we as vaishanvs too perform Ganesh sthapna, do Graha shanthi etc. the principle reason in doing them are that they are related to only the occasion and not beyond it. Ganesh stapna is done because Shree Ganeshji is Vignahartha. Graha shanthi is done to ward off the ill effects of any grahas. Nandi shraadh is done to seek blessings from our Poorvaj and Gothraj poojan is done to seek blessigns for the continuation of the vansh. However, in doing so too, we always say that we are Das of Shree Krishna and only then do the various ritual related to these poojans. At no time one surrenders to the devi devtaas. These poojas are performed more as rituals and not form the point of view of surrender to the devi devtaas, hence the question of Anayashraya does not arise.

Regarding putting of the pictue of  Shree Ganeshji, I do not think we should do that. In fact, I would not even prefer to print the pictures of Shree Thakorji or Shree Yamunaji, Shree Vallabh, as the use of the invitation is limited, and after that, the invitation is either thrown around or it finally reaches a kabadi wala, and in such a case, we are only insulting our own Shree Prabhu.  Why do such a thing at all ????

(However, I would like to also add that, even today many Vaishnavs, carefully cut and preserve the pictures of Shree Thakorji form the invitation and these are later padhraved in Shree Yamunaji with proper honours)

Thank you shreekant bhai for your nice explanation and yes i do totally agree with not putting a picture of thakorji, but at the same time agree that many vaishnavs cut off the picture.

    Would like to add more. ShriGaneshji had got the Vardaan, that before any of teh Subh Karya His (ShriGaneshji's) name will be taken, and his poojan will be done First.

    One prasang of our pushtimarg. ShriMahaprabhuji got married to Shri Akkaji and At akkaji's house, there was the panchayatan pooja, in panchayatan pooja, the pooja is done of Paach devs, and from which 1 was the Swaroop of ShriChaturthbhuj Dhaari ShriGokulnathji along with 2 swaminiji's. ShriMahaprabhuji carried this swaroop along with aapshri, and the other 4 Swaroops aapshri gave to Shri Gangaji, But at that time, When these swaroops were given in ShriGangaji, the swaroops said that "if ShriMahaprabhuji aapshri will not worshipp us, then in future no one will worship us,. " to this shrimahaprabhuji gave aagyna that  "there is the shastriya maryada and that maryada each jeev has to follow, So Even ShriGaneshji, aapshri's poojan will be carried as usual as was going till now, by my Vaishnavas, but that because of the Shastriya Maryada,. "

    So even today also We vaishnavas do the Ganesh Sthapan before the any of the Subh karya, because of the Sake of Shastriya Maryada, and not for any laukik gainings, to which ShriMahaprabhuji had given aagyna.

shree mahaprabhuji instructs us in BAAL BHODH that if  your TADIYATVA AND TADASHRAY is not perfect we have to follow our  varnasharam. 

so we have to perform all the vaidik kriya as mentioned in varnashrma.

Shreekant bhai i would like to ask a question. You say we should not keep Shri Ganeshji's Chitra(picture) while performing his pooja. Won't that be an insult to Ganeshji that we are performing all his poojas but as a mark of respect we do not keep his picture. And definately we vaishnavs would not like to insult  any human being, so here it is Ganeshji.

And as shree Vallabh has given us the permission to perform his pooja should we not keep his picture!

Please clear my doubts..

No were in my abouve psoting I have said that .....we should not keep Shri Ganeshji's Chitra(picture) while performing his pooja.

My views are with regards to the use of Shree Ganeshji / Shree Thakorjis Chavi (Picture) on the invitations etc. due to the fact that these go through miss-use later on.
