Jai Shri Krishna,

it is an interesting query...

why would it matter whether the mehandi was applied on one hand or both ?
what is the significance of not being able to attend seva if one has applied mehandi ? - can we elaborate with the bhavna/story behind this ?

On a similar note...
is one allowed to attend seva if one is unwell ? for simple example, if one has a bad cold/cough/flu etc.. then should one attend seva or would that cause distress to Prabhu ?

Best Wishes
jagdish

Jai Shree Krishna

The smell of Mehandi is not liked by Shree Thakorji hence one should not do seva of Shree Thakorji with Mehandi on ones hand (ATLEAST FOR 3 DAYS)

Well regading being unwell, etc. the level of ones unwellness matters. What is of utmost importance is that one should give utmost priority to Shree Thakorjis sukh . If one feels that ones is coughing uncontrolably, and will do so even during seva, then it avoidable to do seva in such an circumstances.

We all face such situations, and at times do not have anyone to seek guidlines from, in such situations it is best to remember that Pushtiseva is done with the Nirodh bhaava of Gopijan. Keeping such Bhaav, one should evaluate the pros and cons and do that which is best for Shree Thakorji. In doing so, we should also remember the baisc seva requirements, and never ought to superseed them.

The enquiry raised by Monicaji also highlights the fact that Seva is not restricted to the time we are in Apras/Mandir. On the contrary it is a continuous process and one has to remember and keep in mind Shree Thakorjis sukh at all times, even in anosar. Such a habit will not let us commit the grave mistake of applying Mehandi on both hands at all. Leave alone applying, even looking at Mehandi should start ringing alarm bells for us.

Jai Shri Krishna,

Shreekant Bhai, thank you very much for these clarifications.

Why does Shri Thakorji not like the smell of Mehandi, what is the story behind this ?

Also, in this case why would it matter if one applies it on one hand or both hands ?

- Monica ji, i was not aware of an occassion that one _Must_ apply Mehandi....

- with regards to ill-health - still taking the case of coughing constantly, is it fair to say that this coughing, etc will disturb Thakorji more ?
- what can one say are the minimum, basic seva requirements ?

Best Wishes
jagdish

Jai Shree Krishna

Monicaji, for a Vaishanv nothing is more must that Shree Thakorjis sukh. So no occasion requires anything that is more important than Prabhus Happiness. We have even read in the 84/252 Vaishnavs varthas that both Shree Vallabh and Shree Gusainji always insisited that Vaishnavs attend to their Gruh seva first, and only then, time permitting visit them.  With such guidelines by our Mool Acharyas, what can be more important than Prabhus sukh.

Let me also share a very interesting prasang here....

The Dwitiya Lalaji of Shree Gusainji, Shree Govindraiji daily attended the Shayan seva of his Swaroopa daily. Come what may, he used to make it a point to do this seva daily without fail. Aapshrees Marraige was fixed, and the shubh muharat was in the evening. As the Barat was to leave, Shree Gusainji noticed that Shree Govindraiji was in tears. Shree Gusainji immidiately enquired the cause. Shree Govindraiji, in great anguish, said that today because of his Marraige ceremony for the very fist time, He will not be able to perform the Shayan seva of Shree Thakorji. Shree Gusainji immidiately asked Shree Govindraiji to go attend his seva, and said the marraige can be postponed.

Hope this prasang is Shikhsa enough for us Vaishnavs to have an indepth understanding of what exactly is the meaning of Shree Thakorjis Sukh and Shree Gopijans bhaav .

Regarding constant coughing yes it is definetly going to give shram to shree Thakorji. Also an important fact one has to remember is that Pabhu never likes to see his sevak suffer and do seva. He enjoys the seva when all our senses are involved in seva, which the prime reason, Shree Gusainji initiated Shungaar-Bhog-kirtan oriented seva and set guidelines accordingly.

The best source to seek the minimum basic requirements of seva is ones own Guru and Gurughar. Shree Vallabhkul alone can guide us and set standards for this.
