Jai Shri Krishna,

What is Karma Yoga???

Everyone must engage in some sort of activity in this material world. But actions can either bind one to this material world or liberate one from it.

By acting for the pleasure of the Supreme [Lord Krishna], without selfish motives, one can be liberated from the law of karma (action & reaction) and attain trancendental knowledge of the self and the Supreme."

The above is a brief description of Karma Yoga from 'Bhagavad Gita' For some who are new, Chapter 3 in 'Bhagavad Gita' gives full description of Karma Yoga.

Some very interesting verses (in English):

Chap.3, Verse 6: One who restrains the senses of action but whose mind dwells on sense objects certainly deludes himself and is called a pretender.

Verse 7: On the other hand, if a sincere person tries to control the active senses by the mind and begins karma-yoga [in Krishna ) without attachment, he is by far superior.

Verse 8: Perform your prescribed duty, for doing so is better than not working. One cannot even maintain one's physical body without work.

Verse 9: Work done as a sacrifice for Vishnu has to be performed, otherwise work causes bondage in this material world.

Therefore, O son of Kunti, perform your prescribed duties for His satisfaction, and in that way you will always remain free from bondage.

Please give ypour views and comments on same.

Jai Shri Krishna Veda & upsishad,Gita, Narad Sutra and Garg Samhita are accepted base in Pushti Marg and all of these has been considered by Shree Mahaprabhuji and the same is explained in Shodash Garnthas in simplified form. Thus , Karm Yoga is covered in practical applications under Nirodh Lashnam (last four shlokas) , Krishnashrya, Chatusholki and so on .. This version of Karm Yoga by Shree Mahaprabhji is better in pesent age where people perform karma by ones prakuti which need to be applied as per NAVRTANAM & NIRODH LAKSHNAM granth. Of course, Shree Vasantbhais point of order provide further insight. Jai Shree Krishna A.K.OJHA

Jai Shri Krishna, 'Bhagavad Gita' Chap. 3, Verse 19 tasmad asaktah satatam karyam karma samacara asakto hy acaran karma param apnoti purusah Without being attached to the fruits of activities, one should act as a matter of duty; for by working without attachment, one attains the Supreme. Verse 31 ye me matam idam nityam anutisthanti manavah sraddhavanto 'nasuyanto mucyante te 'pi karmabhih One who executes his duties according to My injunctions and who follows this teaching faithfully, without envy, becomes free from the bondage of fruitive actions. Verse 32 ye tv etad abhyasuyanto nanutisthanti me matam sarva-jnana-vimudhams tan viddhi nastan acetasah But those who, out of envy, disregard these teachings and do not practice them regularly, are to be considered bereft of all knowledge, befooled, and doomed to ignorance and bondage. Jai Shri Krishna
