Dear Bhaktjan,

Jai Shri Krishna...

I am a bit curious about the color of Lord Shri Krishna. Was he

1) White (as in the song "Jevi Mograna ni mala, eva Shri Ranchod Rai Roopala")

2) Black or

3) Blue

I do know it is not much of importance but as I said I was just curious about it.

Regards

Krishna's Color is described in most of the reference book as MeghVarna or MeghVarnam. i.e. the color of clouds that are filled with water or clouds that are ready to shower rain. Thsis means color is dark blue. Sometimes this color is also mistaken as Black as thats why different name as Shyam or Shyam Sundar etc. But as far as most reference books goes, Krishna's color is described as Meghvarnam.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Jai Shree Krishna.

Jai Shree Krishna

Shree Thakorji is of  Shyam varan - megh shyam varan.
This fact is evident in the innumerable kritans of the Ashtasakhas....

And also in Rasiyaas....
Shyama shyam sang holie khelat aaj nayi....
Hari karo re hari kaaro.....

Jai Shri Krishna.

Thanks for sharing your views on this.

There is also a song

Jevi Mograni mala eva Ranchod Rai Rupala
Darshan kerva padse bhajan ma aavu padse

May be this is why I asked the question in the first place
