Jai Shree Krishna

Very True Jagdish bhai. Gudipadwa is celebrated in Andhrapradesh as Ugadi, The Telugu New Years Day. As is well known, Mahaprabhu Shree Vallabhacharya, was a Telugu Brahmin, and hence celebated this day as Ugadi. With Brahamasambanda all that is ours is Shree Pabhus, and hence all celebrations ought take place under his presence/participation only. (As we today celebrate ours and our family memebers birthdays, weddings etc., by offering Naveen Samagris, Nutan vastras and various other manortahs to Shree Thakorji)

Hence Ugadi was/is celebated by the Valalbhkul, as their New year, and keeping with the Telugu new year tradition, the Panchang is read in front of Shree Thakorji. We simply follow  the tradition and celebrate ugadi as it is celebrated by our Guruvanshaj and do seva accordingly as per the guidance of our Gurughar pranalika. The Samvatsar too for us starts from today only.

As such the utsav is not directly related to Shree Thakorjis Leelas.

Jai Shree Krishna to all,

Thanks shreekantji.. for the explaination..And y we are eating neem leaves today.. And we are serving to thakorji also..??

What is the importance of neem leaves.???

Gudi Padwa is an occasion where people
traditionally eat something bitter (neem) followed
by something sweet (sugar).. this symbolizes the
true taste of what life is.. and the way we should
accept everything that comes along our way and go
on...

Wish you happy Gudi Padwa...:)

Jai Shree Krshna

Gangauri:

The Gangauri festival is celebrated on trij, choth, pancham and chatt. Gangaur is basically a Rajashani Folk festival. On this day new clothes are worn and a mela is formed. Traditionally on this day The Tilkayat, adorn with New clothes, and other exclusivity used to be captured in the traditional painting form. However the practice has been discontinued.

On this day Shree Thakorji is offered Maal Puva in samajri.

Jsk,

Actually on ocassion of Gangaur all Rajasthani ladies and girls
worship and pray Shivji and Parvatiji and pray for their long happy married life.
It starts from colour day (Dhulendi) and ends on teej.
It's considered that Parvatiji comes to her 'piyar' (mothers house)
for those 16 days. And Shivji comes on beej to take back Parvati to sasural.
So last two days beej and teej are important.
For 16 days all ladies gather together and sing different geets like
mehandi , kumkum , chunadi , jawara , etc.
And have parties 'bindora' where they take Parvatiji for an outing.
It's a beautiful n auspicious ocassion.

Dadaji hope this shall give a brief idea about Gangaur.

Jsk n Regards ,
Monica.
